Dear Members,

It is my privilege and honour to serve as the President of Calcutta Club Limited for 2026 – 27.

Calcutta Club is much more than a club. It is an institution built over generations on the enduring values of friendship, fellowship, tradition and a deep sense of belonging. For many of us, the Club is woven into our lives and memories. It is a place where generations meet, friendships grow and traditions are cherished.

As I begin my term, I do so with immense respect for this remarkable legacy and with an equally strong belief that we must continually evolve with the times.

My foremost priority will be to make the Club even more member-centric. Every member who walks through our doors should experience warmth, courtesy, efficiency and a genuine willingness to serve. I would like us to build a culture where service is not merely a responsibility but a shared commitment.

At the same time, we must look ahead with ambition. We will focus on strengthening our infrastructure, improving our facilities, enhancing our revenue-generating areas and creating new opportunities for members to engage, connect and enjoy the Club. We will also place greater emphasis on well-defined systems, accountability and standard operating procedures so that our operations become more efficient, transparent and consistent.

Our Club has always been vibrant because of the participation and enthusiasm of its members. I would like to see that spirit grow further through meaningful sporting activities, cultural programmes, social gatherings, intellectual engagement and innovative initiatives that bring our members and their families together.

I also believe that the strength of an institution lies in its people. During my term, I hope to foster a culture of teamwork, mutual respect, integrity and accountability across the Club. Our employees are an important part of the Club family and their contribution to creating a positive member experience will be invaluable.

While we embrace change, we must never lose sight of what makes Calcutta Club special. Our traditions, heritage and values will remain at the heart of everything we do. The challenge and opportunity before us is to preserve our heritage while creating a Club that is contemporary, vibrant and ready for the future.

I look forward to working closely with the Managing Committee, our subcommittees, our employees and, most importantly, all our members. I welcome your ideas and constructive participation. The Club belongs to all of us and its continued progress will depend on our collective effort.

Let us embark on this journey together with optimism, energy and a shared sense of purpose.

I look forward to a year filled with renewed camaraderie, meaningful initiatives and many memorable moments at our beloved Club.
